About
Comic artist and illustrator. Transformers for IDW, Star Wars for Dark Horse, and writer-artist of The Kill Lock.
Livio Ramondelli is an American comic-book artist and illustrator based in Los Angeles. He holds a BFA from Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
His career began in 2007, when Jim Lee hired him as a concept artist. He spent four years on the DC Universe Online MMO for Sony, WildStorm and DC Comics before going freelance in 2011.
He draws covers and interiors for IDW — Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, 30 Days of Night and G.I. Joe — and has painted covers for Dark Horse’s Star Wars, Dynamite’s Battlestar Galactica and Legendary’s Pacific Rim: Tales From The Drift. On Transformers he illustrated the whole of Autocracy, then Monstrosity, having started on the Chaos storyline.
Outside comics, his illustration work has been commissioned by Google, Hasbro and Upper Deck. The Kill Lock is his first original science-fiction series.
He works from a home studio in Los Angeles, exhibits at conventions worldwide, and takes commissions from private collectors.
